A Poem for my Uncle Kelly who passed on March 15, 2025

I’m learning how to be more present

like take deep breaths, stand firm, be planted

with both feet

Miss.Kisha -Grounded

Was the first words she told me

As if she could see life current-

Currently swallowing me like in a crashing sea

Tryna catch me - embrace me before this ship wrecks

Before this shit (shift)  wrecks me

I’m learning to stay present

To consider what I need

To make sure the cup is full before I release

Like when Morgan paige reminded me

This year will be about me

To learn when I have reached my capacity of pouring

Now it’s time to let others pour into me

I’m learning to ask for help

In that it doesn’t mean your weak

I means you have a village that loves you

Understand support runs deep

Or when Jeweled Justice

Reminds me to find some friends

Friends that don’t mind mining life’s problems with you

Friends that cares for you

That are interested in really seeing you

Friends that do the prayer work too

That understand the power of intercessory

Who will go to the throne on behalf of you

Friends that has the patience to mine the coal

Who don't mind the cold wall that may arise

When life tides gets to be too high

But know how to apply the gentle pressure

To refine, to remind you that you’re a diamond

A jewel - precious in God's eyes

I’m learning to be more present

Like when I kissed my uncles forehead for the last time

How cold he felt

I’m remembering to breathe

Remembering his touch

The joy he use to bring me

To mourn and grief

To cry

To Release

Deep breath

Remember

Release

Pray

Promises

Deep breath

Release

Grief ain’t always easy

Sometime grief too can become a thing

That’s lingers well after the person leave

I’m learning you can grief more than people

But places, positions, relationships, the simple things

I’m learning that crying don’t make you weak

That tears are God's watering ground for healing

I’m learning that silence can be a language

I always see words as only things we speak

But I’m learning that words got feet

That they have arms to extend and reach

That they have the power to reach inside of you and plant things that run deep

That words can get inside so well and stay long after they have been released

I’m learning that reading in between the line required more patience and practice than you think

Learning that words are more than the things we speak

I believe Grace and Mercy are people

They got two legs , two eyes, hands, and two feet

They even listen real hard when others speak

I’m learning to be more present

To actually release to make room for peace

I’m learning the steps of how to cope after you bring Him your problems- that’s the release

I’m learning what it means to leave these things at His feet

More - deep breaths

Cry

Release

Pray

Cry

Write

Read

Sit

Breathe

Forgive

Never forget

Pray

Release

Be more present

Like Just COS - I’m learning I’m a collection of things

Maybe even my own kind of seeds

Learning to plant myself in spaces only created for me

Learning to take roots to God's word mighty

Holding firm to God's Promises for me

Like more

Speaking

Tongues

Pray

Power

God's power

Holy Ghost power

Flowers

Not before

No

devil

My

time

Time -time-time

Like Q I’m learning a good poem sometimes are never really..
