I wonder if my mama porch could talk-

What it have to say about the

Summer daze & card games on those same fronts steps

If it remembers the chalkboard drawing and lemonade stands

I wonder if my mama porch could talk-

What it have to say about the

“Domino effect” of these front steps

If it remembers the night Daddy creep in

Drunk and smelling like sin

Or if it remembers the quiet nights I came in creepin and weepin’

I wonder - I just really wonder if my mama's front step could speak

If it would pour out wisdom from spending many years being under people's feet

Only if my mama porch could speak
